CIESE K-12 Online Classroom Projects
"CIESE sponsors and designs interdisciplinary projects that teachers throughout the world can use to enhance their curriculum through compelling use of the Internet. We focus on projects that utilize real time data available from the Internet, and collaborative projects that utilize the Internet's potential to reach peers and experts around the world. Below is a catalog of projects that are currently being or have been sponsored by CIESE . Each project has a brief description and links to the National Science Standards and NCTM math standards it supports."
Global SchoolNet
"Global SchoolNet's mission is to support 21st century learning. We engage teachers and students in meaningful project learning exchanges with people around the world to develop literacy and communication skills, foster teamwork and collaboration, encourage workforce preparedness and create multi-cultural understanding. We prepare youth for full participation as productive and effective citizens in an increasing global economy." The Internet Projects Registry serves as an international clearinghouse of telecooperative, telecollaborative, and teleresearch projects for teachers and students.

KIDLINK
"Kidlink is a global, non-profit user-owned organization headquartered in Norway. It is internationally recognized for its ICT-enhanced educational programs, and for international cooperation on the Internet. It has been extensively used by teachers around the world since the start in 1990.
Kidlink focuses on empowering youth with free educational programs to help them get control over their lives, improve their chances of getting a job, and a better life. We help them get friends, build social networks with peers around the world, and train them in the art of growing up, without imposing adult views, religious or political points of view on them. In short: we provide life-skills training."
2Learn Project Centre
A province-wide, cascading professional development program focusing upon using ICTs in K-12 classrooms in Alberta, Canada, 2Learn.ca began by focusing upon telecollaborative projects. "Telecollaborative Learning Projects@ 2Learn .ca provide great motivation for your students, engaging them in real-world learning experiences --while you, the teacher, become a guide, facilitating these extraordinary opportunities . Exploring the many Project resources and tools we have built, you will discover that your classroom need no longer be bound by four walls!"
WebQuests
"A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. The model was developed by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University in February, 1995 with early input from SDSU/Pacific Bell Fellow Tom March, the Educational Technology staff at San Diego Unified School District, and waves of participants each summer at the Teach the Teachers Consortium."
