"When they come, we will teach them to build...curriculum-based learning activities!"

In spring 2005, the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) selected 14 Texas educators to become leaders in a new statewide educational technology professional development program: the Technology Integration Professional Development Corps (TIPD). TX TIPD Corps instructors were selected competitively based upon the contents of their written applications. This PD program focused upon helping K-12 teachers learn to integrate use of online tools and resources into students’ curriculum-based, TEKS-indexed learning.

The 14 members of the TD TIPD Corps are listed below. Please contact them using the email links provided to arrange for professional development sessions in your geographic area.

The content and methods for the TIPD program are based upon Dr. Judi Harris’ 28 newly-revised telecooperative, telecollaborative, and teleresearch learning activity types, which have been used by educators internationally since 1993. These structures are powerful instructional planning tools. They can be applied in any curriculum area and at most grade levels by educators who want to integrate worthwhile student use of online tools and resources in service of curriculum-based learning that is aligned with state and national standards. In doing so, the activity types assist teachers, teacher educators, and educational leaders in realistic ways to plan, design, and implement effective technology-integrated learning and teaching.
